Stellantis operates in global automotive manufacturing with high-volume, precision-driven assembly environments. Manufacturing workflows rely on synchronized part-to-vehicle matching and continuous validation across assembly lines. Within this structure, ABS components require identification at specific assembly points despite the absence of conventional labeling methods. The operational landscape necessitates enhanced traceability and real-time verification integrated directly into the assembly workflow.

The Solution

TIM INSPECT and VEGA-X were integrated together into existing manufacturing systems and a unified verification structure was established. TIM INSPECT read the characters on ABS parts using AI-powered OCR and created a digital identity for each part. It enabled real-time matching with the system. VEGA-X enabled operators to capture images hands-free within the workflow and provided flexible data capture throughout the manufacturing process. Haptic, visual, and audio feedback mechanisms ensured that each operation was validated in real time and maintained process integrity.

The Results

End-to-end traceability was achieved across all components, including non-barcoded parts. Real-time validation and traceability increased operational speed and strengthened process flow. The ergonomic structure improved workforce performance and supported sustainable efficiency. Quality control processes were extended across all operations, increasing visibility.
